In the news: Mayor and good Samaritan help get residents out of smoke-filled building

POUGHKEEPSIE – On Sunday morning, Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison helped evacuate the residents of two apartments in a structure that was filling with smoke. His efforts were aided by a good Samaritan who called 911 to report the fire alarm that could be heard from hundreds of feet away.

Stacey Potik was walking home on Delafield Street Sunday morning with her mother. The women had just been at a neighborhood bakery. As they walked south on Delafield Street, the two heard a very loud smoke/fire alarm going off. As they approached the intersection of Delafield Street and Hoffman Avenue, they determined it was coming from a duplex house on Delafield Street across from the Astor School and she saw smoke coming from a window on the second floor…Read More

Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on Winning the Lawsuit Challenging Democrats’ Illegal Absentee Ballot Laws

Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on Winning the Lawsuit Challenging Democrats’ Illegal Absentee Ballot Laws

“Today is another good day for free and fair elections in New York. Just like their illegal Hochulmander and their non-citizen voting scheme, Democrats’ attempt to rig our elections was slapped down by the courts. When I took over as Chairman of the New York GOP, I promised to usher in a new, fighting era that took on Democrats’ brazen lawlessness and this victory is another win for election integrity. As with all of these cases, the Constitution has been on our side and we will continue to fight to uphold the will of the voters and to ensure honest elections in New York.”

NYGOP Chairman Langworthy Calls on Kickback Kathy to Donate Dirty Campaign Cash

NYGOP Chairman Langworthy Calls on Kickback Kathy to Donate Dirty Campaign Cash

“It’s the very least she owes taxpayers to give this ill-gotten campaign cash to a charity instead of using it to run her nasty, dishonest attack ads.”

Albany, NY–September 20th…New York Republican Chairman Nick Langworthy today called on “Kickback Kathy” Hochul to donate the $300,000 in campaign donations she received as a result of a massive pay-to-play scheme that cost taxpayers $637 million for a no-bid contract to a top donor.

Hochul has been under fire for a kickback scheme whereby the governor abused her emergency powers to give a $637 million dollar no-bid contract to a company that charged the state double the value of covid tests. In exchange, Hochul received $300,000 from the family members of the company. Just recently it was revealed that California paid 45% less for the same tests. Langworthy has called for criminal investigations into the matter. This is just one of several examples of Hochul engaging in pay-to-play, following in the footsteps of her mentor, Andrew Cuomo.

When the first expose on the deal was published, Chairman Langworthy submitted Freedom of Information Law requests to obtain all communications between the Hochul Administration and the company, Digital Gadgets. The Administration stonewalled and denied the request and the Party’s subsequent appeal is being ignored.

“This crooked deal stunk on its face, but the more we learn about it, the more we see just how seriously corrupt it was,” said NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy. “This was a brazenly illegal kickback scheme that defrauded taxpayers to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. It needs to be criminally investigated, but the very least she must do is to give away this ill-gotten campaign cash. It should be donated to a charity to help the taxpayers who footed the bill for this corrupt deal, instead of using it to fund her nasty, dishonest attack ads.”

Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on LG Brian Benjamin’s Reported Arrest

Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on LG Brian Benjamin’s Reported Arrest

“In her first major decision as governor, Kathy Hochul chose a dirty politician to serve as her partner in government and running mate. Brian Benjamin’s shady dealings and corruption were well-documented, but Hochul turned a blind eye and put him a heartbeat away from the governorship. This decision was not just dangerous incompetence, it is proof that her tolerance for corruption runs deep in her veins, which is no surprise given she dutifully served with Andrew Cuomo for seven years. Just days ago, she continued to say she had ‘full confidence in him.’ She does not possess the judgment nor the moral code to serve as governor. The only way to wipe clean the Cuomo-Hochul stench is to throw the entire corrupt cabal out of office this November.”

Chairman’s Newsletter: March 27th, 2022

Dear Friend,

Breaking news Friday night revealed that Kathy Hochul’s handpicked Lieutenant Governor Brian Benjamin is under federal investigation. The U.S. Attorney’s Office has issued subpoenas to state officials and Senate employees on money Benjamin steered to projects in his former Harlem Senate District. This isn’t Benjamin’s first brush with the law–in fact, his corruption is well-documented, but Kathy Hochul picked him anyway.

New Yorkers are continuing to pay the price for Cuomo’s corruption, aided and abetted by his former partner, Complicit Kathy. We also found out this week she is using millions of taxpayer dollars to pay the legal fees of disgraced Cuomo staffers. The Hochul-Benjamin Administration is just as corrupt as the Cuomo-Hochul one.

The corruption is bad, but so too is their agenda. Now that Hochul has realized her horrific bail reform law is a political problem for her, she put out a press release saying she’s fighting for changes in the budget. Both her and her “defund the police” proponent LG Benjamin then spent the week running away from reporters and refusing to answer questions. Hochul is carrying the water of the radical progressives while trying to tell the public she cares about safety. The truth is, not only was she at the top of the administration that signed it into law but she’s spent the last several years as one of the law’s biggest cheerleaders. There is no doubt that she is still trying to play both sides and that’s why on Friday morning, we filed a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request on all communications the governor’s office is having related to bail reform. Please take a few moments to watch our press conference here and learn why it’s so important we find out what is being said behind closed doors.

We also traveled to Dutchess County this week, where along with County Executive and congressional candidate Marc Molinaro, Sheriff Kirk Imperati, and members of the Dutchess County Legislature, we called out Rep. Antonio Delgado’s support of the deadly bail reform law and taking money from AOC and radical left PACs that support defunding the police. Flipping NY-19 from blue to red is one of the Party’s top priorities this fall. Marc Molinaro has always stood by our law enforcement and will help return law and order when he is elected to Congress this fall.

Sincerely,

Nick Langworthy

Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on Senate Democrats Using 9/11 Imagery to Advance Radical Energy Agenda

Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on Senate Democrats Using 9/11 Imagery to Advance Radical Energy Agenda

“The fact that Senate Democrats stood proudly grinning in front of 9/11 imagery to advance their extreme energy agenda tells you everything you need to know about their radical views. It wasn’t a gaffe, it was a revealing display of how out of touch they are with everyday New Yorkers. They are not only ignoring the pain their policies are causing with record gas and home heating costs, but they are using the darkest day in American and New York’s history as a scare tactic. Senators May and Jackson have lost their minds; shame on them.”

Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on Biden’s Remarks About Gas Prices

Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on Biden’s Remarks About Gas Prices

“Americans are paying the highest prices ever for gas and it is a crisis of the Democrat Party’s own making. Since being sworn in, Joe Biden has destroyed American energy creation to appease the radical wing of his own Party.  We were seeing the consequences long before Russia brutally invaded Ukraine. Americans are being forced to shoulder the burden of their radical energy agenda that is not only crushing the low and middle class but also makes our nation less secure. Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, Kathy Hochul, and every Democrat elected leader should be calling for a return to American energy production, today. Voters are watching.”

Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on Russia Invading Ukraine

Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on Russia Invading Ukraine

This is a dark day for the democratic world. First and foremost, our prayers are with the Ukrainian people who are fighting for their lives and their freedom. Tragically, this outcome was entirely predictable, something Republicans have been warning about for more than a decade. Throughout history, America has been a remarkable force for peace and freedom when we lead from a position of strength. From the botched Afghanistan withdrawal to his radical energy policy, Biden’s weakness and ineptitude have led us to this moment, and the results will be felt far beyond the borders of Ukraine. Putin’s naked war of aggression shows just how emboldened he is and every moment that goes by without severe consequences is a threat to the entire globe.”

Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on Senator Ritchie’s Retirement

Statement from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy on Senator Ritchie’s Retirement

“Senator Ritchie embodies the definition of public service. She has been a tireless fighter for not only her constituents in the North Country but for all New York taxpayers. Her legacy of work, particularly her successes securing critical infrastructure funding and legislation to protect children are achievements that will continue to be felt long after her retirement. We owe her a huge debt of gratitude for her three decades of service and wish her much happiness and quality time with her loving family.”
